Belt up

OK, so if you want to be fashionable and on trend this season, without thralling through shop after shop, there is a really easy way to update your wardrobe. Simply, just belt everything, fullstop.

The silhouette of the season centers around the clinched waist. The 40's, a major theme for a/w '07, was all about defining the waist. By adding a simple belt to your look, you'll be instantly up to date.

Belt everything. Dresses, jackets, coats, jumpers, tops; there is no stopping the reign of the belt. Slim belts are best secured at the waist of a dress, as they add a delicate, feminine detail, whereas broad or chunky belts make for a great statement bound over a winter coat. But don't be afraid to mix and match, a dress can look just as sophisticated with a wide belt.

If you really want to turn heads with your sensational on - trend, style antics; then invest in an over sized, chunky knit, jumper dress a la Stella McCartney, define that waist, add minimal accessories, other then a great bag and shoes, and you're set for everything - work, school, shopping, eating out, the runway..........
